Dear Spring Glen Church,

Thank you for such wonderful, heartfelt goodbye! I am especially honored that you have bestowed on me the title Pastor Emeritus, a designation that allows us to extend our mutual love and regard into a continuing spiritual connection. 

 The service was so lovely, especially the music. And fellowship hour was filled with generous gifts of cards, flowers, two kinds of cake, and a reception line of hugs, tears and good wishes. The Sunday School children designed and autographed two tote bags, and also offered a larger bag, etched with my name and sneaker logo… and filled it with delicious treats!  Fun, good humor and kindness permeated the morning. 

As I said in my sermon: I leave with an uplifted heart because wherever we go and even as we part, we can be confident of the future – because there is One to whom we all belong and who hold us all endlessly gently in hand. 

Thank you, dear Spring Glen Church and I thank God for all we have experienced and accomplished together.
