Hamden Area Refugee Resettlement Taskforce (HARRT)
HARRT is immensely grateful to SGC for its support over the past three years, and we are hopeful that you will continue to stand by us in our current efforts. In response to an urgent request from IRIS (Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services of New Haven) this fall, we agreed to support two additional families, one from Afghanistan and one from Syria. – a total of 10 family members.
Background
HARRT is a partnership between a small group of volunteers from the Hamden, CT area and Spring Glen Church (SGC), a United Church of Christ. SGC is a non-profit religious institution located at 1825 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, CT. With SGC’s help, HARRT has co-sponsored four refugee families in conjunction with Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services (IRIS), New Haven, CT. Thanks to your generous support, the families are now self-sufficient. We are now working with two additional families.
How you can help
We’re excited to share that HARRT has received a $12,500 matching challenge! This means your generous gift will be matched dollar for dollar, all the way up to our goal of $25,000.
HARRT’s financial goal is to raise another $12,500 by July 4th to support two refugee families.
